Broken Key Removal

Key snapped in the lock? A locksmith can extract it and check the lock for damage.

Keys usually snap because the lock was already stiff — worn pins, a misaligned door or a dry mechanism. A locksmith will extract the broken blade with specialist tools, then check whether the lock itself needs servicing or replacing so it does not happen again.

Try not to poke the broken piece further in with improvised tools; it usually makes extraction harder. If you have the snapped section, keep it — a key cutter may be able to clone it.
